Yes, our perception can cause us stress and discomfort several times a day. Why is that? Because we believe we know, hold on to our concepts and think we are right. We all know this. This can escalate to almost immeasurable levels or we can sink into “misery”.
Here is a little tip to check your perception or your expectations/concepts: the 4 QUESTIONS from BYRON KATIE (The Work):
- Is it really true?
- Can you say with absolute certainty that it is true?
- How do you react or what happens to you if you actually do believe this thought?
- Who would you be or how would you feel without this thought?
